About the project

Eviid is a secure media management platform that enables risk-conscious businesses to capture, store, validate, and share tamper-proof digital evidence. The platform consists of a B2B admin dashboard used by enterprise clients, and a suite of B2C mobile apps used by people in the field.

In November 2025, I was brought in as a freelance product design lead to deliver a comprehensive redesign, spanning a new brand, design system, redesigned web dashboard, and refreshed mobile apps — all within three months.

Client testimonial

“Ivy exceeded expectations at every stage and completely transformed our product.

She led improvements to both product language and visual design and went above and beyond by delivering a working demo of her designs, which made implementation significantly easier and was particularly impressive given the tight timescales.

I couldn't recommend Ivy more highly as a product designer - it was a delight to work together.”

Challenge

Originally built for the insurance industry, Eviid had decided to reposition as an industry-agnostic platform to address a broader enterprise market. However, the platform’s outdated interface and complex navigation were causing growing user pain points. To compete with modern product standards and attract a wider client base, Eviid needed to rebuild its brand and product from the ground up.

Discovery

Navigating the admin dashboard as a new user quickly gave me a clear sense of where it was failing. With core features concealed by proprietary feature names and related workflows hidden in separate tabs, the structure of the platform felt deeply disorienting. Key views throughout the dashboard lacked context and visual hierarchy, overloading users with excessive data. Without clear UX copy or user feedback there was often little indication of what actions did or what to expect after taking them.

To validate and build on these observations, I documented my findings in a structured FigJam audit — breaking the platform down section by section, annotating screenshots, and mapping existing pages and user flows. Based on my analysis, I proposed a new information architecture that would consolidate seven navigation tabs into five by grouping related functionality and adding more descriptive labels. Once validated with my stakeholder and confirmed as technically feasible with the engineering lead, I was ready to move onto design.

Planning & Priorities

With the audit complete and priorities aligned with my stakeholder, I began building a project management plan. Using Google sheets, I put together a detailed task list for each workstream: brand, design system, web dashboard and mobile apps. Each task was then given an effort estimate and MoSCoW priority label - must have, should have, could have and won’t have - based on their impact-effort ranking.

My prioritisation logic was deliberate: with only three months to complete the project, I planned to invest the most time into the highest-traffic, highest-impact areas, and apply a cohesive visual treatment to the rest of the platform. This would ensure that the redesign would feel unified and functional without requiring an exhaustive structural rethink of every single flow.

Branding

Eviid’s existing brand heavily focused on the product’s media capture functionality, failing to communicate the business’ broader purpose of providing data security through verified evidence workflows. To reposition Eviid for a broader enterprise market, I rebuilt the brand by honing in on its core values of trust and security.

The new logomark integrates a checkmark into the centre of Eviid's first letter to symbolise how security lies at the core of the business. I designed the symbol so it could be used as a brand symbol as well as a standalone icon throughout the product.

For the wordmark, I selected Geist, a minimalist sans-serif that prioritises precision and readability, to reflect credibility and modern product principles. To complete the identity, I created a professional, yet distinctive colour palette that pairs a bold turquoise with off-black and complementary shades of dark navy and forest green.

Design System

With the brand foundations in place, I moved into building a design system from scratch. I established primitive colour variables first and then layered semantic tokens on top, mapping raw values to their intended use in the interface. This architecture allowed me to build light and dark modes simultaneously without duplicating work and establish a clear, scalable system for the engineering team to implement.

The component library covered the full range of UI primitives — badges, buttons, inputs, form fields, dropdowns, checkboxes, tables, navigation, and more — each built with complete interactive states including hover, pressed, active, and disabled, to minimise ambiguity during implementation. I structured the components to align with Bootstrap's architecture, reflecting the engineering team's chosen framework and ensuring a smooth transition from design to build.

Key Improvements

The dashboard redesign was guided by a single principle: everything should happen in context.
A record-first system

The existing dashboard structure separated related media, forms, and live calls into various tabs, making it difficult for users to keep track of related data and interdependent validation workflows.

To solve this, I introduced a record-based system that groups all related media, forms, and live calls under a single, clearly labelled entry. Instead of sifting through never-ending media thumbnails in one tab and big data-heavy tables in another, users can now easily identify the relevant record and see all related media and forms in a single unified view.

A unified live call hub

With call functionality previously split across two separate tabs and multiple pages, managing live calls required unnecessary navigation. Merging all features into a single Live Calls tab gives users one place to create invitations, join ongoing calls, and review call history.

A new product voice

The dashboard’s reliance on insurance-specific terminology made it inaccessible to clients from other industries. I rewrote all UX copy to be industry-neutral and action-oriented and introduced descriptive labels and contextual guidance throughout, reducing ambiguity and making the platform feel self-explanatory.

A cohesive product ecosystem

To complement the visual overhaul of the admin dashboard, I redesigned three accompanying mobile apps — Eviid Assist Live, Eviid Assist Lite, and Eviid Pro. While each app serves a different user segment, their core purpose is the same: capturing and submitting verified evidence. Built on the same brand foundations as the dashboard, the apps share a consistent visual language while being optimised for their own context. Core flows included capturing and uploading media, completing multi-field forms with varied input types, and joining live calls.

Delivery & Outcome

The redesign was delivered in full within three months. Final deliverables included new brand assets, a visual identity guide, a scalable design system, and 230+ high-fidelity web and mobile screens.

To set the engineering team up for a smooth implementation, I structured the handoff across four separate Figma files — brand, design system, web dashboard, and mobile apps — each with an interactive table of contents, clearly labelled sections, and colour-coded annotations distinguishing new functionality from redesigned existing flows. A handoff summary document linked directly to all relevant files and sections, giving the team a single entry point into the work.

Beyond the original brief, I also delivered a high-fidelity interactive prototype of the web dashboard — giving engineering a live reference for how the product should behave during implementation. The work is currently in active development.
